Conner Rousseau

Conner Rousseau (1992) became the youngest party chairman (age 26) in Belgian political history in 2019. He studied law at Ghent University. During his studies, he became communications advisor to then-sp.a chairman John Crombez and quickly rose to become Head of Social Media and spokesperson.

In 2019, he led the electoral list, was elected Member of the Flemish Parliament, became parliamentary group leader, and ultimately the youngest party chairman ever in Belgian politics. He transformed the former sp.a into a political movement, culminating in the name change to Vooruit. That transformation paid off: at the 2024 elections, Vooruit was among the big winners.

Beyond politics, Conner has a strong personal connection to the festival and nightlife scene. Since the age of 17, he has been actively involved in organizing events and festivals. For years, he was also a driving force behind Walhalla Festival. Still a regular festival goer himself, Conner knows the industry from both sides: behind the scenes and in front of the stage.
