dotdotdot is the joint project of Niels Orens and Ewout Decraene (Osaka Riot).
Together, they create a fully improvised performance through modular synthesis, a spontaneous dialogue between artist and audience, where the direction of the journey is shaped in real time by their interaction.
To reflect this concept, video artists Remi Storme, Emile Waterkeyn, and Arthur Deleu active in audiovisual collective Blauwdruk, designed a flexible, live AV show to accompany the performance. With a +250GB archive of video footage at their fingertips, they guide the audience through an improvised visual experience, a journey that takes you through the ever-changing cityscape of Rotterdam: nightwalks among high-rises, fleeting glimpses of the port, snapshots of people in transit, and bursts of streetlight color. These abstract visual textures are layered with 360-degree footage, pulling the viewer into an immersive, cinematic exploration.
Music and visuals are woven together by the poem of Ewout Decraene being projected as subtitles on the big screen, a meditative text reflecting on the meaning of music, the city, the imagery, and the night itself. A fusion of sound, image, and language – constantly in motion.
