Carlos Michielsen is an Antwerp-based entrepreneur active in the events and nightlife industry. He is the CEO of Traum and organiser of Café d’Anvers Open Air. He also leads a working group focused on nightlife culture within the Antwerp Night Council.

His journey began in 2008 behind the bar at Petrol Club and 5voor12. In 2010, he founded City Flow Music, a drum & bass organisation that went on to organise more than thirty events in Belgium and abroad. He also worked as a programmer at Kavka and JCC Zappa. At Kissinger in 2013, he was responsible for officemanagement, staffing and programming, before becoming one of the people behind the launch of Ampere in 2014. Around 2018, he joined Paylogic as a sales representative, gaining experience on the commercial side of the ticketing industry. Through Eventsure, he also taught courses on event organisation, legislation and crowd management to young people across Flanders, with Eventsure Academy serving as his own educational platform at the time.

From 2019 to 2023, he managed Club Capital before taking the step towards becoming a full-time independent entrepreneur and founding Traum, the successor to Café d’Anvers, which was originally established in 1989. At Traum, he oversees the general management of the team behind the club, as well as programming and partnerships. Since this summer, Café d’Anvers Open Air has also become part of his activities.

Alongside his work as an entrepreneur, Carlos is a DJ himself, playing jungle and drum & bass under the name Figures. He is also active as a promoter with So You Think You Can Funk, organising club nights and performing at Tomorrowland. And whenever there is some time left, he can be found in the studio working on acid techno and hardcore jungle tracks using his own hardware rig.
