Elisabeth Van Lierop is a psychologist and sustainability advocate whose work connects personal action with systemic change. Trained in psychology, she explores how solidarity and sustainability can be re-integrated into daily life, translating individual practices into collective culture.
Through her platform Plantbased.be and the podcast Gentle Activist, Elisabeth has been inspiring audiences since 2013 to approach sustainability with empathy, creativity, and realism. She is the author of Planteneters, a book on plant-based living and sustainable parenting. She develops campaigns on fair fashion, circular textiles, sustainable mobility, and equitable food transitions for organizations such as the European Commission, the Belgian Federal Public Service for Mobility, and various NGOs and ethical companies.
As co-founder of Worried Citizens vzw, together with Tijs Delbeke and Eline Goethals, she organized Show Up for Humanity (2025) at the Atomium and co-curated 505 Concerts for Humanity (Antwerp, 2024)— two festivals uniting artists and speakers in a collective call for empathy and solidarity.
