Steven Van Belle serves as the creative director and artistic director at Fuse, Belgium’s longest-running techno club located in Brussels. At its core, his work revolves around shaping the venue’s artistic identity, from booking lineups and supporting resident DJs to looking after affiliated projects like the club’s record label and the annual XRDS festival.

Over the years, Van Belle and the small team behind Fuse have had to navigate their share of obstacles to keep the doors open. From steering the club through the uncertainty of extended COVID-19 lockdowns to rallying support after a sudden temporary closure in early 2023 over neighbor complaints, his role has extended well beyond programming music. Through these moments, he has worked to protect the club’s place in the city while pushing for broader policy changes to better safeguard Brussels’ nightlife culture.
